This will be a shorter recap as beginning in 2016, I will switch this update to Thursdays in order to keep my weeks in line with weeks of the year. Consequently, this update will cover Monday the 28th through Thursday the 31st.

Monday – 5.52 miles in 45:55 for a pace of 8:19. Location: Wakefield Valley Trail. Temp: 38 degrees, 77% humidity, clear.

Tuesday – No workout. Travel from MD to SC.

Wednesday – 6.1 miles in 51:55 for a pace of 8:31. Location: Belton, SC. Temp: 60 degrees, 92% humidity and raining.

I never seem to remember how much spending 10 hours in a car will fatigue me until I have to drag myself out of bed to run the next morning. Oh, and it was raining too. I think I was carrying an extra 5 pounds of water in my clothing when I came in from this wet run.

Thursday – 6.77 miles in 59:06 for a pace of 8:43. Location: Belton, SC. Temp: 60 degrees, humidity 90% and overcast. This was a slower pace than I was hoping to finish the year off with, but I have to attribute it to taking PM headache medicine late last night.

So what to say about 2015? This journey really started in April when Beth’s brain surgery scared the life out of me. I knew that my lifestyle had to change. I had to get healthier, so I hit the pavement. While I did have a couple of New Year’s resolution runs in January, I can’t factor them into this current journey because I proceeded to take 4 months off. Here is my monthly rundown.

January – 3.79 miles, 13:51 avg pace
February – nothing
March – nothing
April – 11.7 miles, 14:51 avg pace
May – 81 miles, 14:14 avg pace
June – 62.2 miles, 12:03 avg pace
July – 90.7 miles, 11:40 avg pace
August – 87.7 miles, 11:06 avg pace
September – 113 miles, 11:12 avg pace
October – 98.6 miles, 10:02 avg pace
November – 100 miles, 9:00 avg pace
December – 134 miles, 8:27 avg pace

What did all these miles get me? On April 20,  I weighed 298.4 and as of this morning, I weigh 207.2. That is a difference of 91.2 pounds.!
