We will get to the training in just a moment. This week can be summed up in two words.
It was mission accomplished on two different fronts. First of all, on April 21 of 2015, I weighed in at a whopping 298.4 pounds. I determined that whatever it took, I was going to get myself back in shape and get to 200 pounds on the scale. Some 1,200 miles, gallons of sweat, and almost a year later, I weighed in at 199 this morning. Unbelievable!!
The second part of mission accomplished is an even bigger deal to us. After being out of full time ministry for 22 months, we interviewed for, were offered, and accepted the job as the new music pastor of the Kempsville Church of God in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We are moving next week!!!
Friday – 3.01 miles in 25:06 for a pace of 8:20. Just got a short run in before hitting the road for a job interview in Virginia Beach.
Saturday – 4.36 miles in 36:18 for a pace of 8:20. Didn’t let being out of town stop me today. Didn’t have time for my normal Saturday long run, but still got a solid run in on the streets of Virginia Beach.
Sunday – No Workout
Monday – 3.11 miles in 24:59 for a pace of 8:02. Travel fatigue is a real thing. Wanted to get 4 in, but had no legs today.
Tuesday – 3.00 miles in 24:49 for a pace of 8:16. Overslept so only had time to do 3. Was planning on 5. Probably a blessing as I was still feeling a good bit of fatigue in the legs.
Wednesday – 4.21 miles in 33:01 for a pace of 7:51. Great run to celebrate my 37th birthday. Also enjoyed a trip to Camden Yards to see the O’s beat the Twins tonight. Oh, and check out the coolest running shirt ever!
Thursday – Finished off the week with a soaking wet 3.15 miles in 27:01 for a pace of 8:35. Was hoping to run longer, but schedule was tight and it started pouring rain about 1 mile into the run.
