It has been nearly two months since my last blog post. It was not my intent to stay away for so long, but life happens.
As you probably know, we moved to Virginia Beach in mid April. We are getting settled in, the girls still have 2 weeks left in school, and we are absolutely loving it here. We waited for nearly two years for God to show us our next ministry venture, and while the wait was difficult, I have no doubt that He was preparing us for this landing spot.
My running took a small hit throughout the moving process and consequently I’ve got a little bit of weight to take back off. I have no doubt that I will probably sweat it off during my summer training runs.
I have run two races since we moved. I ran the Breathe Easy for Asthma 5k in May. It was a small (106 runners) race and I came in 5th place overall with a time of 22:44. Last weekend I kicked off Memorial Day by completing my first ever 10k. It was the Chick fil a 10k in Newport News. With it being my first official 10k it is of course a PR for me of 52:43. I placed 68/436 overall, 51/185 male, and 6/31 in my age group. I left some time on the course so I still think I can run a sub 50 10k in a race before the year is over.
My next race is a 17.76k on July 2. I can’t wait to share those results with you. I will leave you with a few pics from the past couple months.
